Common questions

Where is my training data stored?

On your device. Your workouts, body measurements, activity history, goals and streaks are written to storage on the phone itself.

Do I need an account?

No. FitTrack has no sign-up, no login and no user accounts. There's nothing to create and nothing to remember.

What can I track?

Workouts as exercises, sets, repetitions and load; body weight and measurements from neck to calves; daily steps, active minutes and energy; personal records; and goals, streaks and reminders.

What does FitTrack share with Health Connect?

Optionally, both directions. If you connect it, FitTrack reads weight, steps, heart rate, resting heart rate, total and active calories, nutrition, height, body fat, lean body mass, body water mass and basal metabolic rate. It writes two things back, both of them yours: each finished workout as an exercise session, and, only where no other app measured it, an on-device estimate of the calories that workout burned, so your other health apps can see your training. Nothing happens in the background, FitTrack never writes anything you didn't record, and it never edits or deletes another app's data. Your set-by-set detail and your heart-rate stream stay on the phone. You can revoke either permission at any time in Android settings.

What does FitTrack cost?

The training features are free. FitTrack Pro is an optional subscription billed through Google Play. Ending a Pro subscription never deletes any of your data.

What happens to my data if I change phones?

If Android Backup is switched on, Android copies the app database into your own Google account so your history can be restored on a new device. That backup belongs to your Google account, not to us, and we can't read it. Subscription state is excluded, so use Settings → Restore purchases to bring Pro back.

Can I get my data out of FitTrack?

Yes, and it costs nothing. Settings, then Export to File, writes every workout, weigh-in, measurement and setting to a single JSON file in a folder you choose. It's a plain text format you can read in any editor, and Import from File puts it back on a new phone. Both are free on the free tier and on Pro. Your subscription isn't part of the file.

Can I bring my history in from Hevy, Strong or FitNotes?

Yes. Export a CSV from that app, then in FitTrack open Settings, then Backup, then Import training history and pick the file. Your sessions merge into the history already there rather than replacing it, and importing the same file twice doesn't duplicate anything, so a re-run after a failed import is safe. It reads the training log itself, meaning sets, reps, loads and dates; body measurements and routines from the other app don't come across. Free on both tiers.

Why does FitTrack ask for Alarms and reminders access?

Only so the rest timer buzz lands on the second while your screen is off. On Android 14 and newer the system holds exact timing behind a separate permission, so the app shows a notice in Settings, then Rest timer, offering to take you to the Android screen that grants it. You can decline. The timer still runs and still buzzes; Android may just deliver it a little late. Nothing about that permission sends anything off your phone.

Does the rest timer keep running if I leave the screen?

Yes. The countdown belongs to the session rather than to the screen, so it survives switching tabs, backing out of the workout, and the app being closed by Android. From anywhere else in the app the Resume pill shows the time still on the clock.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Reset All Data inside the app erases all FitTrack data from your device immediately, or uninstalling removes its private storage. Neither needs our involvement or approval.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. FitTrack is Android only today. A native iOS build is being worked on right now, but it carries no date. We would rather ship it late than announce it early.
