1. Who this policy covers
This policy covers the FitTrack Android app distributed through Google Play. It does not cover Google Play, Health Connect, or any other app you connect to Health Connect, those are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Data FitTrack stores on your device
FitTrack is local-first. Everything below is written to the app's private storage area on your phone, which no other app can read. None of it is transmitted to Blur Brands.
Profile and preferences
- Display name (whatever you type; it is never verified and never leaves the device)
- Gender, birth date, height, and current/goal body weight
- Fitness level, training goal, available equipment, chosen training days, preferred training time, units (lbs/kg), accent color
- Reminder settings: which reminders you switched on, the hours you chose for them, your recap day, and your quiet hours (Section 4a)
- Rest timer settings: how long your rest between sets runs, and whether it buzzes when it ends (Section 4a)
- Workouts you build and save yourself, so you can drop them onto a day later
- Nutrition preferences: goal type and rate, activity level, diet style, optional body-fat percentage
Training data
- Workout sessions: exercises, sets, reps, weights, timestamps, notes
- Compressed summaries of older sessions (see "History" below)
- A lifetime totals ledger (volume, session count, and similar aggregates)
- Personal records, both detected and manually entered
- Custom exercises you create
- Your generated training plan
Food diary (FitTrack Pro)
- Meals you log: name, meal slot, servings, macros, and the time you logged them
- Foods you save for reuse, with the macros you entered and how often you have used them
- Daily totals, kept after the detailed entries for a day are compressed
Body data
- Body-weight history, whether typed by you or read from Health Connect
- Body measurements: chest, waist, hips, neck, arms, thighs, calves
- When you log a measurement entry, the body-composition values current at that moment (body-fat percentage, muscle mass, BMI, body water, and basal metabolic rate) are saved with that entry, so the Body screen can chart how each one changes over time
Between those check-ins, body composition is read for display, not stored: the current values and their recent history come from Health Connect each time you open the app. See Section 4. The height and optional body-fat figure you type into your own profile, listed above, are saved because you entered them.
App state
- Which version of the Terms you accepted
- A cached record of whether your FitTrack Pro subscription is active, when it expires, and whether it is set to renew
- A record of which reminders have already been delivered, so the same one is not shown twice. This is kept on the device only and is excluded from export and restore.
History. FitTrack keeps full set-by-set detail for your most recent 500 workouts and compresses older ones into small summaries rather than deleting them. Your totals, strength score, and personal records are computed from those summaries, so they never drop just because a workout got old. The food diary works the same way: individual meals are kept for 90 days, after which each day is reduced to its totals. Both behave the same whether or not you subscribe to Pro, compression is never tied to your subscription, because it discards detail permanently and canceling must never cost you data.
3. Data FitTrack does not collect
FitTrack contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, no attribution or install-tracking SDK, and no third-party crash-reporting SDK. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera
- Your precise or approximate location
- Your advertising ID, or any cross-app or cross-site tracking identifier
- Device fingerprints, IP-based profiles, or usage analytics of any kind
FitTrack requests only three kinds of runtime Android permission: the Health Connect permissions listed in Section 4; on Android 13 and later, permission to post notifications; and, if you install the Wear OS companion, permission to read your heart rate on the watch (Section 4b). The notification permission is requested only at the moment you switch on your first reminder or the rest timer buzz, never at launch, and never if you leave both off. Section 4a explains what it is used for. The heart-rate permission is requested only on the watch, and only the first time you start a workout from your wrist.
4. Health Connect
Health Connect is Android's on-device health data store. Connecting it is entirely optional, FitTrack works fully without it, and nothing is read until you tap to connect and then grant permission in Android's own permission screen.
What FitTrack reads, and why
| Health Connect permission | What FitTrack does with it |
| Weight | Fills in your body-weight chart and current weight so you do not have to type them |
| Steps | Shows today's step count on the home screen as a daily activity signal |
| Heart rate | Computes average and maximum heart rate for a workout you just finished |
| Resting heart rate | Displays a recovery indicator |
| Total calories burned | Shows today's total energy expenditure |
| Active calories burned | Attributes calories burned to the workout you just finished |
| Nutrition | Displays today's calories and macros against your targets |
| Height | Combined with your body weight to compute and show your BMI on the Body screen |
| Body fat | Shows your body-fat percentage on the Body screen's composition tiles, and draws its trend chart from up to a year of readings |
| Lean body mass | Shows your lean/muscle mass on the same composition tiles, with the same trend chart |
| Body water mass | Shows your total body water on the Body screen's composition tiles, with the same trend chart |
| Basal metabolic rate | Shows the resting energy figure your scale or watch recorded, on the same tiles, with the same trend chart |
What FitTrack writes, and when
These twelve permissions are read-only. FitTrack holds four matching write permissions and writes exactly four things to Health Connect, all created by you, all at the moment you finish a workout:
| Health Connect permission | What FitTrack writes with it |
| Exercise | The workout you just finished: start, end, activity type, and the workout's name |
| Active calories burned | An on-device estimate of the calories that workout burned, only if no other app measured it |
| Total calories burned | The same workout's total energy: the active estimate plus your resting burn for the workout's duration, written under the same only-if-no-other-app-measured-it rule, so apps that show total calories (such as Samsung Health and Google Health) can display the workout |
| Heart rate | The heart-rate readings the FitTrack watch app took during that workout, only if you wore the watch for it (Section 4b) |
The calorie estimate is computed on your device: when the watch supplied your heart rate, from that heart rate together with the body weight, age, and biological sex in your profile, using a published estimation formula; without heart rate, from standard activity values. The total-calories figure adds your resting burn for the workout window, computed from the body weight in your profile; if no body weight is available it equals the active estimate. The heart rate FitTrack writes comes only from the watch's own sensor. Heart rate FitTrack read from Health Connect is never written back. Writes cover workouts you finish from now on; past workouts are never backfilled. Each record carries an identifier so the same workout is never written twice. FitTrack never writes anything you did not record, never edits or deletes other apps' data, and never reads or writes Health Connect in the background. You can revoke the write permissions in Health Connect at any time without losing any FitTrack feature except this sharing.
Counting each app once
Several apps can write steps and calories for the same period. FitTrack asks Health Connect to add them up rather than adding up the raw records itself, so where two apps cover the same stretch of time only the one you ranked higher in Health Connect's App priority list is counted, and where only one app has data that app is used. The Progress screen names the apps a figure came from, so you can see which connection is being counted.
How the reads work
- Reads happen only while the app is open in front of you: when you launch it, when you bring it back to the foreground, when you finish a workout, when you open the nutrition screen, or when you tap Sync now. A repeat read is skipped if the last one was less than five minutes ago.
- FitTrack never reads Health Connect in the background. It holds no background health permission and runs no service that reads health data while the app is closed. The one thing FitTrack does do in the background is post the reminders you switched on, and that work never touches Health Connect (Section 4a).
- Weight readings are stored on your device so your history and charts survive between sessions. Heart-rate and calorie figures for a finished workout are stored alongside that workout.
- **Nutrition figures read from Health Connect are displayed only and are never stored by FitTrack.** They are re-read each time you open the screen.
- Height is displayed only and never stored. The height saved in your profile is separate: you typed that one yourself.
- Body fat, lean body mass, body water, and basal metabolic rate are read over the last year so the Body screen can show each one as a trend, not just a number. Those readings are held in memory while the app is open and re-read next time; closing the app discards them. The one time they are saved is when you log a measurement entry, which stores that day's values with the entry (Section 2), so your check-in history survives even if you later disconnect Health Connect. The basal metabolic rate FitTrack reads is shown to you as your health app recorded it and is not used to set your nutrition targets, which are still worked out by FitTrack from the profile you entered.
Food you log yourself
Separately from Health Connect, FitTrack Pro includes a food diary. Meals you enter there are typed by you, FitTrack has no food database and makes no network request to look anything up.
- Diary entries are stored only on your device, in the same local storage as your workouts. They are never uploaded.
- They are not written to Health Connect. FitTrack reads meals other apps recorded, and never sends yours back. The only things FitTrack ever writes to Health Connect are the four workout records described above, never food.
- Detailed entries are kept for 90 days. After that each day is reduced to its totals (calories and macros) and the meal-by-meal breakdown is discarded.
- You can delete any entry at any time, and Settings → Reset All Data removes the whole diary along with everything else.
Where a day's totals combine meals you logged with nutrition read from Health Connect, the two are added once each, FitTrack excludes its own app from what it reads back, so nothing is counted twice.
Our commitments for Health Connect data
Data read through Health Connect is used only to provide the features described above, which are the features visible to you in the app. We do not, and will not:
- transmit Health Connect data to Blur Brands or to any server we control;
- transfer, sell, or license it to any third party, data broker, or information-resale service;
- use it for advertising, marketing, or ad personalization;
- use it for credit, lending, insurance, employment, or any eligibility determination;
- use it to train machine-learning or AI models.
The one caveat we want to state plainly rather than bury: values FitTrack read from Health Connect (such as body weight and workout heart-rate figures) are stored in the same on-device database as the rest of your training data, and are therefore included in your own Android backup if you have backups switched on. See Section 6.
Turning it off
You can revoke FitTrack's Health Connect access at any time in Health Connect → App permissions → FitTrack, or in Android Settings → Apps → FitTrack → Permissions. Revoking stops all further reads and writes immediately. Values FitTrack already stored on your device remain until you delete them (Section 8).
4a. Reminders and notifications
FitTrack can remind you to train, send you a weekly recap, and warn you when a streak is about to lapse. Every reminder is off until you switch it on. If you never turn one on, you are never asked for permission, and the app posts nothing.
There is one other notification, and it is not a reminder. If you switch on Vibrate when rest ends in Settings → Rest Timer, FitTrack schedules a single buzz for the moment your rest between sets is over, so you can put your phone down mid workout. Android has no way for an app to vibrate your phone once the screen is off without posting a notification, so that buzz arrives as one. It clears itself a few seconds later, it is replaced rather than stacked when your next set starts, and it uses its own notification channel called Rest timer, separate from reminders, so you can silence one without silencing the other. Switching that toggle on is the other thing that makes FitTrack ask Android for permission to post notifications. Nothing about the rest buzz leaves your device: the time your rest ends is worked out on your phone and handed to Android's own scheduler.
So the buzz can land on the second even while the screen is off, FitTrack asks Android for the Alarms & reminders special access (the SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM permission). It is used only to fire the rest timer notification you asked for, on your device. You can decline it; the timer still works, Android just may deliver the buzz a little late.
Reminders are built on your device and nowhere else. There is no push service, no Firebase, no server, and no network request involved in producing or delivering one. Scheduling is handled by the notification library bundled into the app and by Android's own WorkManager, both of which run locally. Nothing about you or your data is transmitted in order to send you a reminder.
What a reminder says is put together from data already on your device: whether you have logged today's scheduled session, your training history, your current streak, your goal weight, and your experience level. That personalization happens on the device, at the moment the reminder is written. None of it is sent anywhere.
FitTrack Pro can additionally work out the time of day you usually train, by looking at the timestamps of workouts already stored on your device, so a nudge lands near your normal training time instead of a fixed hour. This calculation also runs entirely on the device and transmits nothing.
What is stored, and what is backed up. Your reminder settings, which reminders are on, the hours you picked, your recap day, and your quiet hours, are stored on your device and are included when you export your data or when Android backs the app up (Section 6). A separate record of which reminders have already been delivered is kept so the same nudge is not repeated; that record is device-local and is deliberately left out of exports and restores, because it describes one device rather than your training.
Turning it off. Every reminder has its own switch in Settings → Reminders, the rest buzz has its own in Settings → Rest Timer, and you can revoke notification permission entirely in Android Settings → Apps → FitTrack → Notifications. Switching everything off stops the background scheduling as well as the notifications.
4b. The Wear OS companion
FitTrack has a companion app for Wear OS watches. Installing it is entirely optional; the phone app is fully functional without it, and nothing in this section applies if you never install it.
What the watch app does
The watch app works alongside your phone but does not need it in the moment. It keeps a copy of your weekly plan on the watch and can start the day's workout, log sets, adjust weights, time cardio intervals, run the rest timer, record your effort rating, read your heart rate, and finish the workout entirely on the watch, including when the phone is off or out of range. Your phone remains the source of truth for stored training data: whatever the watch records is delivered to the phone over the direct watch-to-phone link when it is next reachable.
Heart rate on the watch
When you start a workout from the watch, FitTrack reads your heart rate from the watch's own sensor using Android's Health Services, for as long as that workout is running.
| What is read | Heart rate, while a workout is active |
| Why | To show your live heart rate during the workout, and to compute the average, maximum, and per-set and per-interval figures for the finished session |
| When | Only while a workout you started is in progress. Never in the background, never between workouts |
| Where it goes | To your phone, over the direct watch-to-phone link, into the same on-device database as the rest of your training data |
| Where it does not go | It is not sent to Blur Brands. The only place it goes beyond FitTrack's own storage is Health Connect on your phone, described next |
When you finish a workout you wore the watch for, and you have granted the Health Connect write permission, FitTrack writes the heart-rate readings the watch took to Health Connect as part of that finished workout (see Section 4). The watch's own sensor is the only heart-rate source FitTrack writes. Heart rate read from Health Connect is never written back. The commitments in Section 4 cover two sources rather than one: Health Connect on the phone, and the watch's own sensor.
When the watch has supplied heart rate for a workout, FitTrack uses those values and does not additionally read heart rate for that workout from Health Connect.
The watch-to-phone link
The watch and phone exchange data over Google's Wearable Data Layer, which is a direct link between your two paired devices. Blur Brands operates no server in this path and receives nothing from it. Where that link routes traffic through Google's infrastructure, Google acts under its own privacy policy, exactly as it does for the pairing itself.
If your phone is out of range, the watch stores the sets you logged in its own private storage and sends them when the phone is reachable again.
Other permissions the watch app holds
| Permission | Why |
| Body sensors / heart rate | The heart-rate reading described above |
| Notifications | The ongoing-workout notification, so Android keeps the workout running |
| Foreground service (health) | Required by Android to read heart rate while the workout runs |
| Vibrate | The buzz when your rest timer ends |
| Wake lock, exact alarm | So the rest timer fires at exactly the time you set, even when the screen has dimmed |
Turning it off
Uninstall the watch app, or revoke its sensor permission in Watch Settings → Apps → FitTrack → Permissions. Heart-rate values already stored on your phone remain until you delete them (Section 8); they live in the same database as the rest of your training data and are deleted by the same action.
5. Subscriptions, payments, and network requests
FitTrack's training features are free. FitTrack Pro is an optional subscription.
We never see your payment details. All billing is handled by Google Play. Blur Brands does not receive, process, or store your name, card number, billing address, or any other payment instrument.
The subscription check. To know which features to show you, FitTrack asks
RevenueCat, Inc., our subscription-management provider, whether a Pro subscription is active. The request contains:
1. an anonymous, randomly generated identifier created on your device the first time the app runs, and 2. if you have subscribed, the purchase receipt Google Play issued for that subscription.
RevenueCat validates the receipt with Google and returns only whether Pro is active and when it expires. No workout, body, health, nutrition, or profile data is included in this request, RevenueCat receives no fitness data of any kind. The anonymous identifier is generated by the app; it is not your Google account, your advertising ID, or a hardware identifier, and we do not link it to your identity.
When this happens. We want to be precise rather than flattering here: this check runs for every user, whether or not you have ever subscribed, the app has to ask in order to find out. It runs when the app starts and again when you bring it back to the foreground. For someone who never subscribes, the answer is always "no subscription", and the anonymous identifier is the only thing about them RevenueCat ever holds.
Everything else FitTrack sends over the internet is part of the same subscription machinery, and all of it goes to RevenueCat or to Google Play. Fetching the prices and plans shown on the upgrade screen, completing a purchase, restoring purchases, and opening the subscription-management screen each require a request. They carry the same anonymous identifier and your purchase state, and no more. FitTrack makes no network request for any other purpose. There is no request that carries a workout, a body measurement, a Health Connect value, a meal, a reminder, or anything you typed into the app.
Tapping a link to our website or to Google Play hands the address to your browser or to the Play Store. FitTrack does not fetch those pages itself, and does not send anything with the address.
RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf as a service provider. Their privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
Google Play's handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
6. Device backup, and the file you can export yourself
Android Backup
If Android Backup is switched on for your device, Android may copy FitTrack's on-device database into your own Google account backup, so your training history can be restored when you set up a new phone. We disclose this because that database includes body-weight and heart-rate values that originally came from Health Connect, and any meals you logged in the food diary.
What this means in practice:
- The backup goes to your Google account, not to ours. Blur Brands cannot read it, and neither can any other company.
- It exists so that losing your phone does not mean losing years of training history.
- You control it in Android Settings → Google → Backup. Switching it off stops future backups; deleting the app's backup data there removes what is already stored.
- Your subscription state is deliberately excluded from the backup. After a device change, use Settings → Restore purchases to restore Pro.
Export and import
Settings → Backup → Export to File writes your data to a single JSON file at a location
you choose through Android's own file picker. Nothing is uploaded, and the file is not sent to us or to anyone else. Where it goes afterward is entirely up to you, and if you save it into a cloud drive, that drive's provider holds it under their terms, not ours.
The file contains your profile, training plan, workout history and summaries, lifetime totals, body-weight and measurement history, any workout you had in progress, personal records, custom exercises, nutrition preferences, reminder settings, your rest timer settings, any workouts you built and saved yourself, your food diary and saved foods, your accent color, and the Terms version you accepted. It deliberately leaves out your subscription state and the record of which reminders have already been delivered.
Importing a file replaces what is on the device rather than merging with it. The app tells you so before it proceeds. Your subscription is not part of the file; use Settings → Restore purchases for that.
7. Legal bases for processing (EEA / UK)
For the limited data described in Section 5, our legal basis is performance of a contract: we cannot deliver a subscription we cannot verify.
For Health Connect data, our basis is your explicit consent, given through Android's permission screen, which you may withdraw at any time (Section 4). Reminders rest on the same basis: you switch each one on yourself and can switch it off again at any time (Section 4a).
Data that never leaves your device is processed solely by the app on your instruction and is not transmitted to us.
8. Retention and deletion
On your device. Your data persists until you delete it. FitTrack keeps full set-by-set detail for your most recent 500 workouts; beyond that, the oldest are compressed into summaries that still feed your totals, strength score, and personal records. Food-diary entries older than 90 days are reduced to that day's calorie and macro totals. Nothing else expires, nothing is silently discarded, and ending a Pro subscription never deletes anything.
Delete everything, immediately:
- Settings → Reset All Data inside the app erases all FitTrack data from your device, or
- uninstall FitTrack, which removes its private storage.
Neither requires contacting us, and neither can be refused, delayed, or partially honored by us, because we hold nothing to withhold. Both also erase your reminder settings. To stop reminders without erasing anything, switch them off in Settings → Reminders.
Files you exported. A JSON file you exported yourself is your copy, in the place you chose to put it. Resetting or uninstalling the app does not touch it, and we cannot, because we have never seen it. Delete it the way you would delete any other file.
With RevenueCat. We retain the anonymous subscription record for as long as the subscription exists and for a limited period afterward for accounting and refund handling. To request deletion of that record, email support@blurbrands.com and we will process it within 30 days. Note that deleting it does not cancel a subscription, cancel in Google Play, and may prevent Pro from being restored on a future device.
Android backup. Because backups sit in your own Google account, we cannot delete them. Manage them in Android Settings → Google → Backup.
9. Children
FitTrack is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old to use FitTrack, and users under 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that transmitted data to us, contact support@blurbrands.com.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Because FitTrack stores your data on your device, most of these rights are self-service and immediate: you can view every value in the app, edit it, export nothing to us, and erase all of it via Settings → Reset All Data.
For the anonymous subscription record described in Section 5, or any other request, contact support@blurbrands.com. We will respond within 30 days. Be aware that the record is anonymous, so we may need your Google Play order number to locate it.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not offer financial incentives, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
11. Security
Your data is held in FitTrack's private app storage, which Android isolates from other apps. The subscription request in Section 5 is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection.
Because your data lives on your device, its security depends substantially on your device being secured. We recommend a screen lock and device encryption. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International transfers
RevenueCat, Inc. is based in the United States. If you use FitTrack Pro from outside the United States, the anonymous subscription data described in Section 5 is processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where required. No other data is transferred anywhere.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will update the version number and effective date above and present the revised policy in the app for acceptance before it takes effect. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
